Wind India 2008 Awards


10.  Best Media Report/Publication on Wind Power -  (1st prize only)

WISE shall honour the Best Media Article/Television broadcast/ Documentary/Publication released during FY 2006-07 and 2007-08 with an award.  We request you to nominate the Best Media Article/ TV broadcast/documentary/publication for this prestigious Award and to encourage media persons/authors to apply directly for this Award by submitting their published articles. 

This Award was instituted for the first time in India by WISE during Wind India 2006 conference. Our intention is to encourage all genuine  media professionals and organizations to strive for excellence in coverage and knowledge dissemination in the fields related to wind power in India, to contribute their talents to the creation of general awareness and to accord due recognition for their efforts.

Eligibility Criteria

    • The published piece should have appeared in the print/audio-visual media during the period 1 April 2006 to 31 March 2008. The published piece has to be related to the field of wind power in India.
       
    • The journalist/producer/author should have conducted the background work for the article/TV broadcast/documentary/ publication while based in India at any time within the above period.  Both Indian and foreign nationals are eligible.
       
    • Only pieces published in the Indian media will be considered.  Pieces published / telecast in foreign media are not eligible.  This limitation does not apply to popular books, subject to the above two criteria.
       
    • Media pieces/publication submitted for scrutiny by the Awards Jury may be in English or any major Indian language. However, media pieces not published/telecast in English should be accompanied by authorized English translation or summary.
       
    • In general, pieces/publications submitted shall be judged by standards applicable to popular media/ publishers.   

 Other conditions:

i.   The closing date and time for submission is 5 p.m. on 20 October 2008.  Late submissions will not be considered.

ii.  Submissions may be routed through the Editor or senior journalist of any reputed media organization in India.  However, such routing or nomination is not a necessary pre-condition and  media persons may submit their works directly to WISE via the channels indicated above.

iii.  Co-authored/co-produced pieces are eligible, however the Award will be presented to the author in whose name the submission is received.  If the submission is made in several names, the co-authors, if present, will be invited on stage to receive the Award jointly.

iv Submissions have to be accompanied by full contact details of all authors to facilitate speedy communication.

v  Awardee(s) will be informed by 15 November 2008. Awardee(s) will have to make their own arrangement for travel and stay in Chennai for attending the Award Ceremony.  No claims in this regard will be entertained.

vi   The decision of the Awards Jury will be final.

vii   Submissions received will not be returned to authors.
